BrightSide Theatre seeks a Production Manager
BrightSide Theatre, now in its 14th season, is Naperville’s Only Professional Theatre.
This is a monthly stipend/paid position for local applicants – we do not provide housing.
Duties of the production manager include but are not limited to:
- Plan, schedule and conduct production meetings to help make decisions and allocate responsibilities
- Be present for all 1st rehearsals, designer runs, load in, all tech rehearsals, opening night
- Create and track all details around the production schedule including:
- Reading and responding to all rehearsal and performance reports
- Rent and drive a truck for load in and strike
- Communicate with designers to organize/schedule the load in and strike
- Establish the need and coordinate identifying overhire crew
- Track overall progress of designers and be of assistance to all during tech week as necessary to stay on time for tech elements.
- Act as point of contact with technical staff at performance rental spaces
- Suggest solutions for technical difficulties.
- Keep track of expenses/budget for each design area
- Schedule and run post post-mortem for each show
- Assist with box office/pre-show set up on Opening Night and any other designated performance as needed and agreed upon.
The qualified candidate will have strong Project Managements skills, problem solving skills, clear communication both verbal and written, time management and budget tracking skills, with some theatre technical knowledge to help offer guidance or research solutions to technical problems. The successful candidate will have a positive attitude, the willingness to learn, and a team focused approach.

Lead students (ages 6–18) through two-week sessions of Willy Wonka, Jr. in July 2026. You will collaborate with professional directors and musical directors to teach choreography, build student self-confidence, and prepare a 60-minute performance held in a Naperville park. We are seeking a high-energy, creative Choreographer for our 2026 Summer Camps. You will work directly with youth performers to translate the whimsical world of Wonka into engaging dance and movement.

2026 Camp Dates
- Session One: July 6 – July 17
- Session Two: July 20 – July 31
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm (Performances on final Fridays at 6:00 pm)
Key Responsibilities
- Instruction: Teach foundational dance techniques and original choreography tailored to diverse age groups (6–18).
- Collaboration: Partner with the Director and Musical Director to integrate movement into the 60-minute production of Willy Wonka, Jr..
- Mentorship: Empower young artists to develop their potential, fostering a love for musical theatre and teamwork.
- Performance: Oversee the execution of choreography during outdoor park performances.
Qualifications
- Theatrical Experience: Proven background in musical theatre choreography and dance.
- Youth Instruction: Experience working with children/teens in a camp or educational setting is highly preferred.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills to coordinate with production staff and motivate campers.
