Set Designers

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age and previous scenic design experience required.

Responsibilities:

  •  Work collaboratively with the Director to serve the story and fulfill the concept/vision for the production and interpretation the script.
  • Create drawings for the technical director to build from.
  • Create drawings or images that represent the design for the director and cast to understand the set.
  •  Works with Production Manager and Technical Director to stay within budget for all materials and building costs.
  •  Set pieces such as furniture, curtains, set dressing must be included in the scenic design.
  •  Develop floor plans drawn to scale showing the layout of each scene and the placement of set pieces.
  •  Must be on site for all production meetings, designer run, load in and load out.

Choreographer for “Pippin” (June 2025)

(Experience with the style of Fosse is a plus)

Pippin will audition in Jan 2025, start rehearsals late April rehearsing for about 6 weeks (Sun – Thur evenings) and have 12 performances Friday- Sundays, June 13-29.  Rehearsals will take place in Lisle, IL and Performances will take place on a ¾ thrust stage in a 200 seat Theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall in downtown Naperville, IL.

This is a stipend paid position for local applicants – we do not provide housing.

Choreographer Duties Include:

  • Being present at production meetings, auditions, callbacks and schedule rehearsals at our rehearsal studio in Lisle unless otherwise approved in advance.
  • Choreographer must participate fully in rehearsals, tech week and be present for all performances as requested by the Company, and any promotional events as necessary to complete the choreography to a professional standard.
  • Working closely with the director the choreographer will create choreography that matches the vision of the show
  • The Choreographer through rehearsals will teach the choreography to the cast preparing to the meet the Company’s professional standards.
  •  Respond to respond to any emails and/or rehearsal reports addressed to Choreographer by noon the next day.
