Holding the record for the longest running comedy thriller on Broadway, Deathtrap is the story of the world-famous thriller playwright Sidney Bruhl who is suffering from a chronic case of writer’s block. When one of his former students shows up at his doorstep with what might be the next Broadway hit, Sidney and his wife concoct a deadly plan to make the manuscript their own.
Deathtrap is filled with twists and turns in a series of shocking events that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last moment!

PATICK DEERING (Sindey Bruhl)
is thrilled to make his debut on the BST stage in one of his favorite shows, having last appeared in it as Clifford in 2018 with StageCoach Players. Other favorite roles have included Wadsworth in Clue (Limestone), Kodaly in She Loves Me (VTG) and Resurrection Man in A Tale of Two Cities (Greenman).

is excited to return to the stage for the first time since Covid, and even more thrilled to make his professional debut in Deathtrap at BrightSide Theatre! He would like to thank his family and friends who have always supported him in the pursuit of his dreams, with a special thanks going out to Adam and Laura for all of their help, daily support, and love during this process.
LISA BRAATZ (Helga Ten Dorp)
is thrilled to be back performing with BST! She was seen previously as Cookie in Rumors and as the psychic in Vanya & Sonia & Masha & Spike. She has performed in hundreds of Murder Mysteries in the Chicagoland area with various companies. Lisa recently retired after 18 years performing in the one woman show Late Night Catechism where she was based in Chicago and toured throughout the country. Her other talents include teaching Tai Chi at College of DuPage, making stained glass windows and cross stitching.
JOHN ZIMMERMAN (Porter Milgrim)
is making his third appearance on the BrightSide Theatre stage after performing in The Odd Couple and Gypsy. John, who lives in Carol Stream, is a retired journalist and educator who spends his free time writing plays. His last drama, A Touch of Grey, debuted in Los Angeles in September.
